Volunteer Opportunities
Join A THOUSAND SUMMERS as we deliver the camp experience that promotes self-confidence, leadership, and character. We have a team of over 100 volunteers across the country committed to serving youth through the power of camp.
Volunteer Roles Include:
Compass Program Assistant Instructor – assist in virtual monthly group sessions from January through May that provide campers with experiences that foster meaningful relationships and guide campers to navigate their lives with a sense of belonging and purpose.
Campership Mentor – support a camper through the application and camp preparation process.
Campership Application Review Team – review Campership applications. This team is full.
Capstone Coach – support mentors as they assist their camper through their Capstone service project. This team is full.
Trustee of the Board – establish policies, make significant and strategic decisions and oversee the organization’s activity.
Since our volunteer opportunities require direct involvement with children, we require volunteers to apply and be approved in advance. Background and reference checks will be performed on all volunteer applicants.
