e receive applications from around the country. We look for great, well-rounded kids who, without help, cannot afford the cost of a multi-week mountain camp experience.

Applications are reviewed by the Foundation's Camper Committee, and campership awards are based on a variety of factors, including the applicant's qualifications, financial need, funds available each summer for camperships, the diversity of the applicant pool, and geographic dispersion. Not all applicants are awarded camperships and recipients are not guaranteed their first choice of camp.

The deadline for summer of 2011 is November 1, 2010.

In our experience, first year campers between the ages of 10 and 15 benefit most from a camp experience. This also allows those who wish, to apply for an additional year of camp. We have seen a number of our campers personally grow further in their second or even third summer.

Are you the parent or loved one of a potential camper whom you would like the John Austin Cheley Foundation to help send to camp? If so, then please contact Sam Frostman to see if we have possible Recruiters in your geographical area.
