amp Kawanhee for Boys, operated by the George and Raymond Frank Foundation, is located in pristine pine woods along Webb Lake, a mountain lake 85 miles north of Portland, Maine. Founded in 1920, the camp's stated mission is "to provide boys and young men with experiential educational opportunities designed to encourage self-sufficiency and teamwork and an appreciation of the natural world."

Boys entering third grade to age 16 attend camp for sessions ranging from 2 to 7 weeks, living in lodges with 8-10 others. As they swim, fish, sail and hike, they can observe the abundant wildlife in the area. While the boys meet challenges in a variety of team sports, camp activities such as the rope course, and numerous trips, they also have the opportunity to work on projects in arts & crafts and the woodworking and lapidary shops. A trip program offers shore trips, white water rafting, mountain trips and survival trips.

Blending activity time with free time, campers learn about outdoor living, gain athletic skills, and develop respect for the natural world within the supportive camp community.
