he Foundation is looking for volunteers to help us identify great kids interested in a summer camp experience. There are so many high achieving kids that deserve the opportunity to attend camp but lack the financial resources. Recruiters help identify these future campers and play a critical role in guiding a child and family through the application process, assisting award recipients in preparing for camp, and helping the Foundation with follow-up after camp.

What does a Recruiter do?

Identify high potential candidates
Personally visit and interview family and camper
Review the different camp choices with the camper
Assist family in completing the 10-page application
If selected, assist the family with pre-camp preparations (forms, equipment, etc). Answer (or find answers) to any questions that arise from the family.
Follow-up with camper upon returning home and complete post-camp forms.
Who makes a good Recruiter?
Someone who has good contacts with people who work with youngsters and have observed their interactions with others-teachers, principals, youth leaders, coaches, Scout leaders.
Someone who is willing to ignite the spirit of a young person with a summer devoted to challenging themselves.
Someone who is willing to commit to spend time with the applicant and the family in the application process, preparing for camp and for follow-up after camp.
Someone who is NOT related to the potential camper.
